Overview
Electro muscle stimulation (EMS) is a foreign concept to most consumers in the US. Think of the gimmicky ab-belt infomercials of the 80s and 90s. The science has come a long way and Katalyst is driving the at-home direct to consumer market of this groundbreaking techology. The core problem: The electronic pulses to the muscles feels weird at first. Like, really weird.
The most effective way to set customers up for success is for a representative or trainer to manually walk them through setting up the suit. As the the customer base increased, this obviously was not a scalable solution. Knowing that if custimers set up their starting impulse strenght correctly, they had a much higher rate of success and repeat use, I worked with the team on a self-service system for the suite out of box experience (OOBE) and initial electro-impulse set up via an actual workout.
